030 - Fort Belle Fontaine (St. Louis, MO)

This was one of the coolest places we visited today.  After signing in at a guard shack, we followed the narrow roads until we came to this area overlooking the Missouri River.  We took the pic of the cake and then looked over the edge of the stone wall and saw incredible stone steps leading down a few levels before reaching the road below.  We walked to the bottom and back up.  As we approached the top, a couple of men in tuxedos came down the steps, slightly surrealistic until we got back to the top and saw an entire wedding party just arriving to take pics.

Did you know there are two cakes at this location?  Halfway down, the kids found a stone area with some stones stacked in the middle of it.  We're guessing it was an STL anniversary cake from the 1800's that they forgot to remove, haha.  (Not sure what the kids were doing with their faces in this pic.)
